The Cold War, nuclear weapons and secret agreements between world powers are what it’s about in this spellbinding thriller from the world of journalism.
In 1968, an American B-52 bomber carrying a payload of four atomic bombs crashed near the Danish base of Thule in Greenland, contaminating the entire area. The subsequent cleanup operation was supposed to halt any further spread of nuclear waste. It was not until the 90s that it came to light that the Danish government had allowed nuclear arms to be stored in Greenland, despite the earlier convention to ban them on their territory. Only one journalist dared stir up events of the past and soon found himself – to the chagrin of the political powers – on the trail of an entire conspiracy. This is a political thriller that takes after “All the President’s Men”, or “The Parallax View” and is based on actual events.
